For a couple of years the Bank of Russia has been issuing a series of coins called «Russian (Soviet) Animation», they are coins of 25 rubles in cupronickel that can be purchased in normal or colored version. There is also a Proof version in silver, with 3 rubles facial with the same design. The information and images that I offer correspond to those emitted in base metal (cupronickel).
On November 5 the fifth currency of the series was issued under the name "Santa Claus and the summer" based on a Soviet cartoon story about how Santa learned how summer is. This 1969 animated story is the work of director Valentin Karavaev.
Living in the North Pole, Santa Claus had never seen the summer and did not know what it was until the children told him about it at a New Year's party. Santa Claus is so intrigued about how summer will be that he decides to see him at all costs. His curiosity will make him travel to the city, where the summer heat makes him feel bad. The children will save him by giving him ice cream and then show him the summer.
Point out that in Russia there is no Santa Claus, but if its equivalent, known as Ded Moroz, which could be translated as, “The Grandfather of the Cold”, and is the true protagonist of this animated story.
The reverse shows an embossed scene of the animated story and the inscription, in the upper semicircle, 'ДЕД МОРОЗ И ЛЕТО' (DED MOROZ AND THE SUMMER).
The obverse, common to all currencies, shows a relief image of the coat of arms of the Russian Federation, the semicircle inscription “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (Russian Federation). Below the inscriptions in three lines: “БАНК РОССИИ” (Bank of Russia), the value of the currency “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 RUBLOS), the year “2019” and the mint mark shown on the right.
