The Suomen Rahapaja, Finland Mint, announces the issuance of the seventh coin of the series "National Landscapes of Finland" dedicated to the "Oulanka River". The series is composed of nine bimetallic pieces with facials of 5 euros that correspond to the favorite landscapes chosen by their citizens in a vote held during the summer of 2017.
The obverse of the coin shows an image of the Oulanka River as it passes through the Oulanka National Park, located in the city of Kuusamo. The Oulanka River, covering 135 km, 105 in Finland and 30 in Russia, is a tributary of the navigable Koutajoki River that flows into the White Sea. The design of the coin is based on a photograph taken by Hannu Vallas and captured on the coin by Erkki Vainio.
The reverse designed by Mari Metso shows an image of the map of Finland where with a small circle the location of the Oulanka river is shown.
