The Bank of Mexico has put into circulation a commemorative twenty-peso coin alluding to the hundred years of the arrival of the Mennonites in Mexico. This coin is bimetallic, has a dodecagonal shape, has a latent image and a microtext as security elements.
The reverse shows a Mennonite family in the center, with a railway to the left and a plowed field to the right. In the upper part is the latent image composed of a number "20" and to the left the microtext "PIONEER COMMUNITY". In the exergue the denomination “$20” with the years “1922” and “2022”, in the upper contour the legend “ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF THE ARRIVAL OF THE MENNONITES IN MEXICO” and to the right the mint mark of the Casa de Moneda de México “ M°”.
The obverse of this commemorative coin features the National Coat of Arms surrounded by the legend “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS”. It is legal tender, so it can be used to make any type of payment.
