Rhynchonella orbignyana- Stadtfeld Formation, middle Devonian (Eifelian =393.3 - 387.7 million years ago). Mürlenbach Prüm, Germania.
#RO

A teknők felületét hegyes bordák díszítették. A Rhynchonella élőhelye a nagy hullámenergiájú partok környéke volt.

Rhynchonella was an extinct genus of brachiopods that lived from the Silurian to the Eocene (466–37,2 million years) in the seas around the world. They were marine, solitary organisms, permanently or temporarily attached to the substrate. They were solitary sea animals that were permanently or intermittently attached to the substrate. Rhynchonella had a tiny triangular shell with two valves: a dorsal valve in inferior, and a ventral valve in superior position. The valves are normally bilaterally symmetric, but their sizes are different. The surfaces of both valves contain sharp ribs. Rhynchonella lived in a high-wave-energy coastal environment.
