As with every installment in this collection, and coinciding with World Animal Day, celebrated on October 4, the Bank of Hungary issued a new coin—the sixth—in its series dedicated to the Hungarian shepherd and hunting dog breeds, a collection that began issuing in 2019.

In 2004, all of Hungary's native dog breeds, including the Kuvasz, were declared national treasures by the Hungarian Parliament. And in 2017, along with other Hungarian breeds, it was incorporated into the Hungaricum Collection (a term denoting a value worthy of distinction and uniqueness that is typically Hungarian).

All the coins in this collection feature a general design premise: the featured dog breed is depicted on the obverse as a single figure, while on the reverse it is set in a scene typical of the breed.

The obverse of the coin shows a full-length profile of a kuvasz. The inscription on the edge of the composition, in the upper left corner, bears the name of the issuing country "MAGYARORSZÁG" (HUNGARY), and in the lower right corner, the face value "3000 FORINT." Arranged in two horizontal lines below the depiction of the kuvasz, are the year of issue "2025" and the mint mark "BP" (Budapest).

The reverse of the piece features a half-length image of two kuvasz in a natural setting, with two Hungarian gray cows in the background. In the upper left corner of the design, in a semicircle, the inscription "KUVASZ" appears, while in the lower part of the composition, integrated into the image of the steppe, is the signature of designer Zoltán Tóth.
