The advances in numismatics, especially with the new minting systems that are being used and the application of color, although many do not like them, have come to stay. This is assuming that during the last years we are discovering new and impressive coins that are authentic works of art. They will like more, or they will like less, but no one can deny that visually they are an authentic show that will not leave us indifferent.
Today we are going to know one of the currencies that we can consider as a good example of what I am talking about. It is the fifth coin in the "Great Micromosaic Passion" series dedicated to the art of mosaic embodied in coins. As you will be able to verify, the results that are achieved are frankly spectacular.
The coin that I present represents the most famous painting by the artist Tamara De Lempicka, «Young woman in a green dress». Born in 1898, this Polish painter rose to fame in Europe and the United States with her Art Deco portraits and nudes .
This coin, made up of 3 ounces of pure silver, has more than 8,000 small "tiles" that make up the great work, thanks to Smartminting technology.
The reverse of the coin depicts a beautiful young woman in a flimsy green dress, white gloves and a large white hat. The coin is minted with more than 8,000 tesserae in exceptional high relief, to reproduce and empathize with the extraordinary beauty of this piece of miniature mosaic art. On the left side, the year of issue will appear written in Roman numerals: "MMXXI".
The obverse of the coin features the Palau coat of arms, surrounded by a beautiful decorative mosaic pattern. Around the obverse, the inscriptions: "GREAT MICROMOSAIC PASSION", as the name of the series, "GMP", abbreviation of the series, "REPUBLIC OF PALAU", as the issuing country and "20 $", as the face value. Each coin is individually numbered on the edge.
The coin is presented in an exclusive box, along with its certificate of authenticity. The circulation is very limited, only 499 units.

One last observation. These coins are not cheaply priced, but if you can afford them, they can even serve as an investment. The revaluation they have, you can see by looking for the first pieces of the series, has meant that the first ones triple or even quadruple in value.
