Like the one issued in 2015 for the "XXX Anniversary of the European Flag", the one that will be released in 2022 will also be a common commemorative coin, this time for the "35th Anniversary of the Erasmus Program".
The Dutch Mint Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt (KNM) is in charge of minting the country's currency. It has had financial and institutional problems since 2015, in fact this public company had to be rescued by the State and later sold in 2016 to a Belgian investment company, but internal problems continue to this day. His last mint master, Stephan Satijn, resigned last August, which has meant that the sketch presented to the European Commission clarifies that the two lower spaces in which two triangles are represented are the places where The mint mark of the Mint will appear on one, and the new mint master's mark on the other.
Of course, this will also affect the rest of the circulation and collection coins issued by the KNM from now on.
The design of this common commemorative coin differs from state to state only in the layout and spelling of the name or country code and the mint marks. The issue volume for the coin will be 570,000 pieces. 500,000 destined for circulation and the rest destined for collectors in special presentations, 50,000 in BU quality and 20,000 in Proof quality.
The currency will be issued, along with that of the rest of the countries, on July 1, 2022.
