The Central Bank of Malta has announced what will be its numismatic program for this 2020 composed of six different currency issues, which will be issued and put up for sale throughout the year. The 2020 coin program includes the following products: 







An issue of gold and silver coins within the Europa Star Program under the theme 'Gothic'. These coins will feature an illuminated letter found in a set of handwritten choir books, known as L'Isle Adam Graduals, today in the Museum of the St. John's Co-Cathedral. Coins, which will feature color printing, are expected to be issued in March 2020.





A silver coin to mark the 75 th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. This important historical milestone will also be marked with a gold coin of limited edition to only one hundred pieces weighing one ounce. Both currencies are expected to be issued in April 2020.




A silver coin commemorating the 250 th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, German composer whose music has left an indelible mark on Europe and the cultural heritage of the world. This currency is expected to be issued in November 2020.




A set of Euro coins, dated 2020, which consists of the eight regular Maltese coins circulating along with a commemorative 2 Euro coin dedicated to the Skorba Temples, will be issued in May 2020.




The 2-euro commemorative coin alluding to the Skorba Temples, fifth of the series of seven coins dedicated to Maltese prehistoric structures listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, will be issued in rolls of 25 coins each, as well as in A coincard Coins are expected to be available in June 2020.



A commemorative coin of 2 euros with the theme «Games», belonging to the series «Children and Solidarity» will feature the design of Ymen Riahi, winner of a contest held among high school students. The coin will be issued in rolls of 25 coins each, as well as individually presented on a coincard. This currency is expected to be issued in October 2020.

According to the information provided by the Central Bank of Malta, that you can check in the different boxes, the commemorative 2 euro coins, as in previous years, will have the mint mark of the Monnaie de Paris in those presented on coincard, while those issued in rolls no.
