In less than a week the Bank of Estonia will issue the two commemorative 2-euro coins that it has announced for this 2020. A few days ago I announced that on Monday, January 27, it is put into circulation and for sale, depending on the presentation, the dedicated to «200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica». Only a few days later, on February 1, it will also do so with the one dedicated to the "Centenary of the Treaty of Peace of Tartu", a coin that will be issued in rolls of 25 coins and in a coincard alluding to the theme that commemorates the coin.
On February 2, 2020, 100 years will have passed since the Tartu Peace Treaty was signed. To celebrate this important historical event, on February 1, 2020, Eesti Pank (Bank of Estonia) will circulate one million coins, of which 10,000 coins in BU quality will be put up for sale in a special presentation for collectors. The commemorative coin design is the work of graphic designer Ivar Sakk, who is also a design historian and professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
The Tartu Peace Treaty was signed between Estonia and Soviet Russia on February 2, 1920 in Tartu, and set the eastern border of Estonia, ending the War of Independence.

The Tartu Peace Treaty is a peace treaty between Estonia and Soviet Russia signed on February 2, 1920 that ends the Estonian War of Independence. The terms of the treaty established that "Russia unreservedly recognizes" the independence of the Republic of Estonia waiving in perpetuity all rights over the territory of Estonia. The ratifications of the treaty were exchanged in Moscow on March 30, 1920. It was registered in the Treaty Series of the League of Nations on July 12, 1922.
