The last currency issued by the Austrian Mint, like every year, is the so-called "New Year Currency", this year which welcomes 2019 will be the sixth with this theme. With this and, with all previously issued, you want to wish a happy year, full of best wishes for collectors and those who receive it as a gift, something that little by little is becoming a beautiful tradition. Although the official issue date for this coin of 5 euros is next December 5, its date of stamp already corresponds to 2019.

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Vienna State Opera, the New Year's Currency 2019 is inspired by the concept of Joy of Living, an intoxicating cocktail of satisfaction, exuberance and lust for life. This concept, which is best translated using the French term joie de vivre , is symbolized in the coin in the form of a dancer present in a painting by Franz Dobiaschofsky (1818-1867), which is located on the main staircase of the world famous house of the opera.

The obverse of the nine-sided coin shows the coats of arms of the nine federal provinces of Austria, its face value "5 euros" and the name of the issuing country "Republic of Austria".

The coin with facial of 5 euros, like all those that Austria issues in this value, can be purchased in two versions, the copper face value and the silver, presented in the portfolio, at a price of around € 19 in the virtual store of the Austrian mint.
