Wonder Woman is the protagonist of the second coin in the series dedicated to The Justice League. This series started with the one dedicated to Batman, also issued this year, will consist, in principle, of six coins in which Superman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg will be represented, in addition to the other two characters already mentioned.
This coin dedicated to Wonder Woman, features an officially licensed image of the superheroine with her usual outfit and her famous Lasso of Truth in hand, in a city full of skyscrapers in the background with the Wonder Woman logo depicted in the sky. Metal content (1 ounce of pure silver), Wonder Woman copyright mark, and DC Comics copyrights appear on the bottom edge as signs of authenticity.
The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the name of the country and its face value.
The coin has been minted by the private New Zealand Mint company located in Auckland, New Zealand, which buys precious metals from international sources and then produces coins. The name of the issuing country that appears on the coin is the Island of Niue.
There are two versions with the same design for the coin, in one ounce of silver or one ounce of gold. It has a fairly limited circulation, only 15,000 pieces for the silver one and 150 for the gold one. The coin is officially issued on June 30.
