The second coin of the series "Flora and Fauna of Kazakhstan" has been issued this week by the Bank of Kazakhstan. The protagonist of this second piece is the Stony Butterfly or, Lasiommata maera, which is its scientific name. This coin and all of the series have two facials, 100 and 200 tenges, associated with two qualities, BU and Proof respectively.
On this occasion the coin of 200 tenges differs from that of 100, apart from the quality of it, by the color note present in one of the butterfly's wings.
The image of a stony butterfly perched on a plant is shown on the back of the coin. Along the circumference are the inscriptions "Lasiommata maera" (scientific name of the species), "Kőbelek" (common name of the species in Russian) and the number "2019", which indicates the year of issue.
The obverse of the coin is shown on the right side of the coat of arms of Kazakhstan surrounded by silhouettes of animals and plants, on the left is the logo of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the inscription of the face value (100 or 200 tenge) On the edge of the circle are the inscriptions (NATIONAL BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN), in Kazakh «ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ» and English «NATIONAL BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN».
The 100 tenge coin is presented in the wallet you see above, although its circulation is only 20,000 copies, right now you can buy, as I have seen, for prices below 10 euros including shipping costs. I think that if you collect world currency, it is a good opportunity to buy now, later, taking into account your circulation, the price will be more expensive.
The 200 tenge, issued in Proof quality, is presented in a case with its protective capsule for the coin. The price is around 30 euros, shipping included.
