We already have design for the commemorative 2 euro coin that Malta will issue in 2019. Within the series "Prehistoric Temples of Malta" next year will be dedicated to the "Temples of Ta 'Ħaġrat". In 2016 the "Temples of Ggantija", in 2017 the "Temples of Hagar Qim" and in 2018 the "Temples of Mnajdra", with which this series will have four coins for the time being.
The coin has an image of the Ta 'Ħaġrat Temples in the center of its obverse. Above, in three horizontal lines, the legend "TA 'ĦAGRAT TEMPLES 3,600 - 3,000 BC" (Before Christ) appears, while below, in two horizontal lines, the legend of the issuing country "MALTA" and the year of issue "2019". The initials "NGB" of the engraver, Noel Galea Bason , appear on the right just below the motif. On the outer ring of the coin are the 12 stars of the EU flag.
Both the date and the volume of issue, for the time being are unknown.
Remind you that the second commemorative 2 euro coin to be issued by Malta next year, has as its theme, within the series "Children and Solidarity", "Nature and Environment".
My thanks to Comrade Paul (Euromunter) for providing me with the information.
