Ufa is a city with a population of more than a million people. Since 1922 it has been the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Ufa is an important economic, cultural and scientific center of the Russian Federation. The city is among the top five Russian cities in terms of area. It is named after the Ufa River.
The city was founded as a fortress in 1574. In 1586, Ufa gained city status and became an important strategic, administrative, commercial and economic center.
To celebrate the 450th anniversary of the founding of Ufa, the Bank of Russia issued on June 3 a silver collector's coin with a face of 3 rubles belonging to the "Cities" series.
The reverse of the coin shows a relief image of the city's coat of arms and the architectural complex of the Soviet Square in Ufa, laser-treated for a matte finish, a relief image of Major General Minigali Shaymuratov and the relief inscription » УФА 450″ at the bottom. The top and bottom of the coin feature raised ornamental elements, laser-treated to give them a matte finish.
On the other hand, on the obverse, it has the relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the upper semicircular inscription of the issuing country "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed with diamonds.
