On November 5 the PBOC put into circulation a coin 5 yuan to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sun Yat Sen, first president of the Republic of China and founder of the Chinese Nationalist Party, considered both in the People's Republic China and Taiwan the father of modern China.
The obverse shows a picture of Sun Yat Sen and a text that recalls the 150th anniversary of his birth. The reverse shows the former residence of Sun Yat Sen, inside which today houses a museum with many personal items. the year of issue 2016 and 5 yuan face value also appears.
The issue volume for this currency is 300 million pieces. It is being distributed by banks in the country since last November 5.
