In recent years we have been witnessing the issuance of coins dedicated to a multitude of superheroes who were born in the world of comics, mainly minted in gold or silver. Today we have another one, who without being one of the most famous, if I think he is well known to everyone, Flash (also known as The Flash) is the protagonist of the latest coins issued by the New Zealand Mint.
Although there are four coins that have just been issued dedicated to Flash, I am going to focus on the one that is made up of one ounce of silver, then we have one with almost the same design, but made up of three ounces, and two of gold with another design, made up of 1/4 ounce and 1 ounce.
Since the Golden Age, THE FLASH™ has been a standout hero in the DC Universe. There have been many interpretations of The Fastest Man Alive, but arguably the most popular identities to have donned the suit are Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West, each of whom has redefined what it means to be a hero.
The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by artist Ian Rank-Broadley, surrounded by the name of the issuing country “Niue”, the face value “Two Dollars” and the year of issue “2022”.
