On 6 November I informed you that the second 2 euro commemorative Luxembourg coin for this 2020 dedicated to the "Birth of Crown Prince Charles" would have two versions, one with the image engraved with the traditional method, and the other using the embossing technique, which simulates the image of a photograph. Today I can confirm that the coin was issued on December 24 in rolls of 25 coins.
Apparently, since the information has not yet been officially released by the Bank of Luxembourg, there are complete rolls that each contain a type of currency, as you can see in the image.
But the thing is not only that these are two different currencies, then if you want to enter to differentiate them by mint marks there will also be more versions, when the one presented in coincard is issued, the Proof version ... Anyway, I do not want to do accounts, nor I'm going to go looking for the different existing combinations. Among other things, for now everything is speculation and there are no certainties. The issue volume is 160,000 coins of each type or version.
The motif shows Prince Charles in the center, under the effigies of his parents, His Royal Highnesses the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillermo and the Heir Grand Duchess Estefanía. At the bottom, the text 'HRH Prënz Charles' (His Royal Highness Prince Charles) is followed by the date of birth '10 May 2020'. On the left side, the word "LËTZEBUERG" appears vertically, as a designation of the issuing State. The monogram (crowned letter "H") is a representation of Grand Duke Henri.
