It looks like a paper airplane ready to fly, but its wings aren't made of paper. Power Coin has transformed this familiar object into a three-dimensional coin that invites you to look at it from every angle.

The Paper Airplane Special Edition Gilded is the golden interpretation of the airplane that launched the Folded Dreams series. This new two-ounce piece in 999 sterling silver retains the shape of a paper airplane but transforms its visual presence with 24-karat gold plating. The edition is limited to 199 pieces worldwide.

The piece retains the folds and volume of an everyday paper airplane.

A folded sheet of paper, another way of looking at the future

The design stems from a universal gesture: folding a sheet of paper until it becomes something capable of flight. The first version of Paper Airplane, from 2025, appealed primarily to play and children's imagination. This special edition, dated 2026, offers a different interpretation of the same form. That improvised airplane can also evoke an idea that, over the years, develops into a future project.

The gilding marks this evolution without obscuring the piece's origins. It remains recognizable as a paper airplane, with its open wings and central groove, but its finish gives it an almost sculptural presence. The contrast between the object's simplicity and the craftsmanship required to reproduce it in metal is a significant part of its appeal.

The detail that prevents it from being a perfect airplane: The tip is slightly bent. It's a small feature, but it makes the object believable: remember that real paper airplanes get crumpled, crash, and take off again.

A coin that must be viewed from the side.

In this issue, the silhouette is as important as the faces. The wings deviate from the central axis, and the folds create surfaces with varying angles. Its official dimensions are 15 × 54 × 90 mm, with a weight of 62.2 g.

The tip is slightly bent, as often happens with paper airplanes after a few flights. The wings bear inscriptions that appear handwritten. These details make the piece, despite being gold-plated, still resemble a handmade and decorated airplane.

The two sides of the airplane

Reverse

This side features classic inscriptions, utilizing the wings as an engraving surface. They read "2 Oz Silver 999," "199 pcs.," "2 Dollars," "Niue Island," and "2026." The arrangement of these inscriptions follows the fold lines.

Obverse

The other side shows the airplane from below, with its two smooth, golden wings that draw the eye to the central fold and the tip. This cleaner surface helps one understand at a glance how a simple sheet of paper seems to have acquired the volume of a small airplane.

A presentation designed to showcase it

The coin comes with a certificate of authenticity in a themed display case. The outer box has a chalkboard design, featuring drawn clouds and the small golden airplane as its centerpiece.
