On March 27, the Bank of Russia announced the issuance of a new commemorative 3 ruble silver coin, part of the "Historical Events" series.

This issue commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatres of the Russian Federation, a key institution in the promotion, protection, and development of the performing arts in the country. The issue not only highlights the cultural significance of this organization over more than a century but also underscores its contribution to strengthening Russia's artistic and social fabric.

REVERSE

The reverse of the coin features a relief image of the Union of Theatres of the Russian Federation building with stylized theatre curtains on either side. Within the central composition are the relief inscriptions "STD" (abbreviation for Union of Theatres) and "150"; while the text "СОЮЗ ТЕАТРАЛЬНЫХ ДЕЯТЕЛЕЙ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ" (Union of Theatres of the Russian Federation) appears on the upper rim.

OBVERSE

The obverse of the coin features the embossed coat of arms of the Russian Federation. At the top is the semicircular inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (Russian Federation), flanked by paired diamond-shaped ornaments. Below the coat of arms, on the left, is the metal's chemical symbol and purity, while on the right are the fine metal content and mint mark. In the lower center, arranged in three lines, are the inscriptions "БАНК РОССИИ" (Bank of Russia), the face value, and the year of issue, "2026".
