On March 28 , the National Mint and Stamp Factory – Royal Mint will issue a new piece that unites history, art and nature: the fourth Spanish gold coin of one tenth of an ounce , dedicated to the majestic Iberian Imperial Eagle .

This design isn't new to fans of the series: it already shone on the one-ounce gold coin issued last year. Now, in keeping with this collection's tradition, which has grown over the years, the same motif graces the 1/10-ounce version , allowing more collectors and numismatic enthusiasts access to a piece as symbolic as it is coveted.

The Iberian Imperial Eagle: symbol of strength and elegance

The Imperial Eagle , with its impressive wingspan and distinctive dark plumage flecked with white on its shoulders, is one of the most iconic birds of the Iberian Peninsula. This endangered species is also a national symbol of resilience and majesty, and its presence on this coin is a tribute to Spain's biodiversity.

Design with historical roots and a contemporary soul

The collection to which this coin belongs seeks to project the image of Spain to the world , combining the representation of iconic animals on the reverse with historical elements on the obverse.

Obverse: the echo of the eight-real coin

 

 Inspired by the famous columnario , the symbol of the historic Spanish silver coin, the obverse depicts two hemispheres under a royal crown, flanked by the Pillars of Hercules and the motto PLUS VLTRA , over a wavy sea. The scene is surrounded by an elegant pinion beading . The legend FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA appears at the top , and the weight and purity are indicated below: 1/10 ONZA 999.9 ORO.

Reverse: the greatness of the eagle

 

The reverse depicts the Imperial Eagle in all its splendor. On the left, the legend ÁGUILA IMPERIAL (IMPERIAL EAGLE) appears in a downward circular motion; on the right, the year of minting: 2025. The coin's face value, 15 EURO CENT , appears at the top , followed by the mint mark. As on the obverse, a pinion beading frames the whole with sobriety and elegance.
