On November 26, 2023, Italy was proclaimed champion of the 111th edition of the Davis Cup Tennis in Malaga by winning the final in Australia. To celebrate this title, which occurs 47 years after winning his first Saladera, a coin has just been issued in Italy to celebrate this sporting achievement.

It is a very exclusive piece, since apart from being minted in gold, its circulation is limited to 500 units and it has a starting price of 1,400 euros.

The obverse of the coin represents the trophy awarded in the Davis Cup, the world's top competition for men's national tennis teams, created in 1900 by the American tennis player Dwight Filley Davis. Around the trophy are the legends “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA” separated by the inscription “DAVIS CUP”; in the exergue, “26 NOVEMBRE 2023” and “MALAGA”.

On the reverse side the Italian men's tennis team appears lifting the Davis Cup won on November 26, 2023 in Malaga. Around it, the inscription “ITALIA CAMPIONE DEL MONDO”; at the bottom the face value of the coin “50 EURO”; in the exergue, “2024”, year of issue of the coin; on the right, “R”, identifier of the Rome Mint, and “V.DE SETA”, signature of the author.
