For next April 26, the National Bank of Ukraine will continue with the subseries called "Chernobyl Renaissance", issuing on this occasion a coin dedicated to the black stork (Ciconia nigra), a rare bird that has become one of the peculiar symbols of the resurgence of life in the Chernobyl zone. This piece, minted in an nickel silver alloy and using some colored elements, has a face value of 5 hryvnias.

The 30-kilometer exclusion zone and unconditional resettlement zone, on the territory of which the Chernobyl Ecological and Anti-Radiation Biosphere Reserve has been located since April 26, 2016, has become a kind of reserve for breeding not only common species, but also rare species from the Red Book (IUCN Red List of Threatened Species) among which is the black stork. Thanks to the preservation of the environment in the Chernobyl zone, the bird population is growing. This indicates the recovery of the region's ecosystem, and that the reserve is becoming a center of biodiversity even in conditions of radiological contamination.

On the reverse of the coin we can see the color representation of a black stork on a landscape background, above which, to the left, there are the inscriptions: «ЛЕЛЕКА» (STORK) / «ЧОРНИЙ» (BLACK) / «CICONIA NIGRA", and in the upper right part of the composition some chicks also appear in the nest.

However, on the common obverse of this subseries, the small Coat of Arms of the State of Ukraine appears at the top next to the inscriptions: УКРАЇНА (UKRAINE), and on the left, the face value of the 5 hryvnia coin. In the center of the design, "the symbolic wheel of life" is represented, which marks the rebirth of nature, and in the center of this we see the international radiation threat sign wrapped in leaves, around which are animals whose Populations develop in the 30 kilometer exclusion zone, which has become a kind of breeding reserve, in particular black storks, Przewalski's horses, lynx, bison, elk and brown bears. Surrounding the composition are the inscriptions: "CHERNOBYL RADIATION AND ECOLOGICAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE", the mark of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine at the top, and the year of minting 2024 at the bottom.
