On December 13, the National Bank of Kazakhstan issued two new coins dedicated to the traditional Kazakh song “Jar-Jar” and the folk tale “Keloğlan”. Each of the pieces has been minted in three different versions.

Jar-Jar Coins

These three coins, belonging to the series "National Rites and Games of Kazakhstan", are dedicated to the Kazakh ritual song called "Jar-Jar", which is performed at weddings during the bride's farewell.

Silver

 

 

Coin minted in 925/1000 sterling silver, with a weight of 24 grams, a diameter of 37 mm, in proof quality, with a face value of 500 tenge, and a circulation of 3,000 pieces.

Cupronickel

Coin minted in cupro-nickel, weighing 15 grams, with a diameter of 33 mm, in BU quality, with a face value of 200 tenge, and a circulation of 10,000 pieces.

Nickel silver alloy

 

 Coin minted in nickel silver alloy, weighing 11.17 grams, with a diameter of 31 mm, in UNC quality, with a face value of 200 tenge, and a circulation of 50,000 pieces.

Keloğlan Coins

The three versions of this coin belong to the series "Tales of the people of Kazakhstan", a collection dedicated to presenting popular tales of the largest diasporas living in the territory of Kazakhstan.

Specifically, these three coins focus on the tale of "Keloğlan", a brave, intelligent and receptive wizard from mythology and popular culture.
