The Central Reserve Bank of Peru has issued this Thursday, August 17, a silver collector's coin to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Peru and Japan.

On August 21, 1873, with the signing of the "Treaty of Peace, Friendship, Commerce and Navigation", Peru became the first country in Latin America to establish diplomatic relations with Japan.

The reverse of the coin shows an image composed of emblematic mountains of both countries: Machu Picchu and Mount Fuji, accompanied by linear elements that evoke the rising sun at the top and the Peruvian flag at the bottom. Likewise, the legend "DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS" and 150 years (this word in Japanese character), "PERU - JAPAN" and the years 1873 - 2023 are observed.

On the obverse, there is the Coat of Arms, the text BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU, the year of issue and the denomination in letters UN SOL.
