As scheduled, the second commemorative 2-euro coin of Finland this year was issued on August 7, under the name "Socio-sanitary services as a guarantee of the well-being of citizens".
The issue volume of this piece is 400,000 units, a figure that has been repeated in recent years. Of this amount, 394,500 have been distributed in rolls of 25 coins and the other 5,500 in Proof quality, in the presentation that you can see below these lines.
The motif represents a stylized map of Finland. On the left side is the legend "HYVINVOINTI / VÄLFÄRD" [WELL-BEING] in Finnish and Swedish. The minting year “2023” is located slightly to the left, in the center of the coin. At the bottom, there is the indication of the country of issue, "FI". On the right side is the mint mark of the Finnish Mint.
With this coin we want to highlight the fundamental role of social and health services in safeguarding the well-being of citizens. This is a relevant and topical issue, since the Covid-19 pandemic has revealed the importance of social and health services for the functioning of society, as well as its potential vulnerability.
