On June 27, the Republic of San Marino issued a Proof-quality silver 10-euro coin with face for the “15th anniversary of the inclusion of the Historic Center and Monte Titano of San Marino on the UNESCO World Heritage List ».
The coin celebrates the high symbolic value represented by the inscription of the Historic Center of San Marino and Monte Titano on the World Heritage List, on July 7, 2008, adopting the following statement: «San Marino is one of the oldest republics of the world, represents an important stage in the development of democratic models in Europe and throughout the world, San Marino and Monte Titano constitute an exceptional testimony of the establishment of a representative democracy based on citizen autonomy and self-government”.
The coin's design shows a view of Monte Titano with an electric train of the San Marino-Rimini Electric Railway, which departed from the UNESCO World Heritage Center of San Marino, passing over a viaduct. The reverse is completed by the legends "SAN MARINO" and "IN UNESCO 2008-2023"; in the lower central part the value 10 EURO and to the left the name of the author «A. NAPOLIONE».
The obverse shows the coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino.
