This weekend the World Money Fair is held in Berlin, where, as usual, the National Currency and Stamp Factory will present part of its numismatic program for this 2023. One of the points that will be emphasized is the success obtained with its investment coins, which with just over a year on the market are having a great reception both within our borders and in the international market.

The one-ounce gold coin dedicated to the Iberian Lynx, which was created as a test to see how collectors and investors responded to the bullion-type coin market, and issued with a limited circulation of 12,000 copies, is announced by the FNMT which is already sold out. The maximum allowed has been minted and from now on its price will be marked by the purchase and sale between individuals, so we must forget about the initial price, value of the metal plus ten percent.

Several thousand of these coins are being sold on the international market, where they are highly appreciated and valued, both the 2021 Lince coin and the 2022 coin dedicated to the Bull. As I told you a few months ago, the circulation of the bull's one ounce gold coin has increased its maximum issue volume to 15,000 units.

To finish with the review of the one-ounce coins, tell you that this year, if there is no last-minute change, the animal that is represented in the new piece will be the Horse and its circulation will also be 15,000 units.

1/10 ounce gold coins

For all those collectors who cannot afford to acquire an ounce of gold, the FNMT has also minted its version of one tenth of an ounce. In 2022 we had the mini Lince and this year we will have the mini Toro (announced between March and April). If everything goes according to plan, in 2024 we will have the mini Horse. They are coins that are also selling very well and have a maximum print run of 50,000 each.

One ounce silver coins

To date, the FNMT has not contemplated the possibility of making silver versions of these coins, but the latest information that I have received indicates that it is considering it very seriously, partly due to the multitude of collectors who are demanding it. In fact, I think they are doing some tests already, and if it is not by the end of the year, most likely in 2024 they may be a reality.

We will keep reporting.
