Since last December 26, Uzbekistan has had a new bimetallic piece in its monetary cone of coins. To date, the Asian country did not have any of this type, not even as a collector's coin.
With a facial of 1,000 Som (about 9 euro cents) this currency becomes the highest facial in the country and will circulate at the same time as the bill of the same value.
The obverse of the coin depicts the “Center of Islamic Civilization” building under construction in the city of Tashkent. At the bottom of the image is the coin's denomination "1000" and the word "so'm" below the number in Latin letters.
On the reverse of the coin appears, in the center, the state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the circumference of the shield is the inscription in Latin letters "O'ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI". Under the shield is the figure "2022", which indicates the year of issue of the coin.
The edge of this coin is smooth.
