Numismatics begins to recover some normality in Ukraine with the issuance of new coins, not only dedicated to current affairs, but also gives continuity to series started years ago.
On December 1, a 2-hryvnia coin with a face minted on an alloy of nickel silver, also known as German silver, belonging to the series "Higher Education Teaching Centers of Ukraine" was issued to commemorate the "Centenary of Kharkiv National University of Urban Economics OM Beketov”.
This institution of higher education in Ukraine provides training and retraining of engineering personnel of a variety of specialties and specializations covering the technical and socio-economic spheres of operation and development of cities and regions. Kharkiv National University of Urban Economics, named after OM Beketov, is a modern scientific and educational complex, which also includes a teaching and method department, a scientific library, branch research units, numerous educational and scientific centers , architectural and artistic workshops, etc. The university conducts a wide range of scientific research in the field of urban management.
The obverse of the coin presents at the top, the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, to the right of which is the inscription UKRAINE; in the center, the logo of the university; the inscriptions are: 2022/2/GRIVNA and the logo mark of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The reverse of the coin shows a stylized composition of a monument to the prominent architect OM Beketov (left), after whom the university is named, the central part of the facade of the university building (right) and the inscriptions: 100/YEAR ( on the building) and the name of the university.
