It will be on April 4 when a commemorative coin with a face of 200 kwanzas (0.40 euros) under the name "20 years of Peace in Angola" will be put into circulation in Angola. This coin, whose distribution to the public will be carried out by the country's commercial banks, represents a fraternal embrace between Angolans, a symbol of reconciliation and union, having been the winner of a design contest held for this purpose at the national level.
On the obverse, the motif represented by the fraternal embrace and the feeling of national union among Angolans stands out, with the inscription at the top “ PEACE AND NATIONAL RECONCILIATION” . Also the date "2002-2022", which refers to the period between the year of the signing of the Agreement that brought the definitive Peace to Angola and the year of issuance of this coin. In the lower semicircle is the name of the issuing country “REPUBLIC OF ANGOLA”.
On the reverse, the face value “200 Kwanzas” stands out in the center, along with basketry motifs as a symbol of national culture. The year of issue "2022" appears at the bottom.
It should be noted that, as a security element, tilting the coin, within one of the zeros, we can see the alternation of the number 200 with the letters "BNA" (National Bank of Angola.
As for the characteristics of this coin, it has only transpired that it has a diameter of 28.5 mm and a weight of 10.5 grams.
