This week we had the issuance of the two Spanish national commemorative 2 euro coins, one dedicated to the V Centenary of the first Around the World and the other to the Garajonay National Park. For the latter I am going to present you with something that can be a very nice complement to have together with this piece, it is a postage stamp dedicated to the same subject, and that uses the image of the coin.

As every year, Correos issues a stamp dedicated to a Spanish World Heritage site, coinciding with the issue of the commemorative 2-euro coin belonging to this same series, being in 2022 the Garajonay National Park, located on the Island of La Gomera, the protagonist of both products.

The stamp, which has the shape of a two-euro coin, shows the Alto de Garajonay in relief, which gives its name to this park. The block sheet that frames it presents a beautiful intaglio of that mountain, as well as the image of the green that surrounds it.

The coin 

 

On the obverse, the Roque de Agando and a detail of the laurel forest are reproduced. In the upper right part, in capital letters and in a circular direction, the legend SPAIN and the year of minting 2022; below, the mint mark. Surrounding all the motifs and legends, in the outer circular area of ​​the coin, the twelve stars of the European Union appear.

On the edge of the coin is the inscription: "2 * *" repeated six times and oriented alternately from bottom to top and top to bottom.

The issue volume is 1,000,000 pieces.
