2021 marks the 200th anniversary of Peru's independence, commemorating the anniversary, different coins are being issued that honor both the country and the different institutions and representative elements of a nation.
The last coin issued for the occasion is dedicated to the Bicentennial of the Army of Peru, created shortly after the announcement of the proclamation of independence made by General José de San Martín on July 28, 1821.
Currently, the Army of Peru controls, monitors and defends the nation and national interests from any threat or aggression, using land military power, participates in economic and social development, control of internal order, civil defense actions and foreign policy. according to law, in order to guarantee the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and general welfare of the population.
On the reverse of the coin, in the center, there is a composition alluding to the bicentennial of the Army that includes Colonel Francisco Bolognesi Cervantes (Patron of the Peruvian Army), the map of Peru and the phrase "200 Years - United to history of the Nation ”. At the top of the coin, the text BICENTENARIO DEL ARCITO DEL PERÚ and at the bottom, you can see the period 1821-2021.
The obverse of the coin features the National Shield, the text BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ, the year of minting 2021 and the denomination in letters UN SOL.
