The next issue of coins from the Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico Vaticano scheduled for December 10 brings us, among others, the 200-euro gold coin belonging to the triennial series dedicated to the archangels, this year it is Gabriel's turn. In the Christian tradition, Gabriel is remembered for his role as a messenger and famous universally and iconographically, for being the bearer of the announcement to the Virgin Mary of his miraculous conception and the birth of Jesus.
The coin designed by the artist Gabriele Di Maulo, shows the meeting between the angel, who is represented with a lily in her hands, and a simple and humble young woman who receives the message that God had chosen her as the mother of his only child.
