In recent times the issuance of Finland's 2 euro commemorative coins is surrounded by a lot of misinformation and a lot of speculation. Since the distribution of its coins ceased to be so by the Finnish Mint itself (Suomen Rahapaja) and passed to the Nordic Moneta company, it has meant that the collector is not clear about the approximate price at which he can get Finnish coins. Today I am going to tell you all the information that has reached me about the issuance of its last coin dedicated to the «Centennial of the University of Turku», which began to be distributed on August 18.

We have good news, which should be reflected in the sale price of the coin. Contrary to what happened last year with the one dedicated to the "Constitution Law of 1919", the coin has been distributed in rolls of 25 coins, all with the same one, it is not mixed with the regular 2 euro coin. The issue was previously announced, something that did not happen last year either and led to many going into circulation, which limited the number of coins in UNC or Uncirculated status. Another factor that plays in favor of a reasonable price is that in Finland many people who had nothing to do with the numismatic world made money with last year's currency, as is logical this year they will look for the new one to sell it later, which will cause that the coins do not fall into a few hands that end up fostering speculation.

Designed by architect Petri Neuvonen, the coin features an image of abstractly intertwined lines, simulating interactions between universities and society.

The issue volume of this coin is 800,000, of which 5,000 of them will be in Proof quality, the latter will be issued in September.

Finally, I want to offer you an alternative to the typical Ebay-type pages for buying and selling euro coins. Here there are many weekly auctions where coins of the considered "difficult" usually appear.
