The Barboskin Family (in Russian, Barboskin) is a Russian animated series about a family of dogs, produced by the animation studio Melnitsa. The Barboskin are a large family, made up of a father, a mother and their five children: Max, Rosie, Alex, Liza and Kid. Each of the characters has a marked type of personality. The series humorously depicts the typical life of a modern Russian family: parent-child relationships, stunted growth, peer conflict, etc.

This new coin dedicated to the Barboskin Family belongs to a series called «Russian (Soviet) Animation» that the Bank of Russia has been issuing since 2017. They are 25 rubles coins in cupronickel that can be purchased in normal or colored versions. There is also a silver Proof version, with a 3-rub facial with the same design. The information and images that I offer you correspond to those issued in base metal (cupronickel) on April 29.

The reverse of the coin features a relief image of Max, the main character in the series, and the inscription 'БАРБОСКИНЫ' (BARBOSKIN FAMILY) at the top.

The obverse, common to all the coins, shows a relief image of the coat of arms of the Russian Federation, the inscription in a semicircle “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (Russian Federation). Below are the inscriptions on three lines: “БАНК РОССИИ” (Bank of Russia), the value of the currency “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 RUBLES), the year “2020” and the mintmark shown on the right.
