The reasons to which the two commemorative 2 euro coins that Finland has decided to issue in 2020 have just been released. One of them will be during this spring and the second by the end of the year.

The first, which would have to be broadcast during the season of the year in which we find ourselves, will be dedicated to the "Centennial of the University of Turku". A collector coin of 100 euros minted in gold dedicated to the same motif was issued on February 28. I say this because we have precedents that they use the same design for coins dedicated to the same subject, so the image that I leave you, a montage made by me, could practically be the design that presents the commemorative 2-euro coin.

The University of Turku is an internationally recognized institution located in the city of Turku, on the southwest coast of Finland. It was founded in 1920, a few years after Finland's independence from Sweden. At the time, there was only one university in Finland whose courses were taught in Swedish. Through a popular gathering, Finnish intellectuals created this educational institution that began teaching in Finnish.

It currently has ten research and teaching institutions. There is special support for cooperation between different scientific fields, in addition to intense collaboration with society and the business world.

For now we do not know the exact date of its issue, nor its circulation.

The second, which as he said was scheduled for the end of the year, has as its theme the "Centenary of the birth of Väinö Linna", considered one of the most influential Finnish writers of the 20th century.

Finland had a 20 mark banknote dedicated to Väinö Linna.

Finnish literature finds in Väinö Linna one of its great exponents of the 20th century. The author was born on December 20, 1920 in the municipality of Urjala (Pirkanmaa region) Finland.

The Nordic Literature Council Grand Prize, the Kalevi Jäntti Prize, the Jussi Prize and the Aleksis Kivi Prize are some of the distinctions received by Väinö Linna, who died on April 21, 1992 in Tampere.

For this currency, as is logical, we also do not know the date or volume of issue.

Thanks to colleague Paul (Euromunter) for notifying me of these emissions.
