The Bank of Russia has issued a coin to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the incorporation of Ingushetia into the Russian Federation. Although the subject does not seem too popular, at least for those of us who do not live in Russia, the coin does have a very colorful and careful design, so it seems interesting to me that you know it.
The representatives of the Ingush people took the oath of allegiance to the Russian state in the spring of 1770, near the town of Angusht on the flat land of Barta Bose (translated from the Ingush language as "the pending agreement"). The Treaty of Voluntary Adhesion of Ingushetia to Russia, signed by the Ingus elders, was approved by the Russian Foreign Affairs Board on July 12, 1770.
The inguses are one of the oldest villages in the North Caucasus, with a distinctive history and culture. The material culture of the inguses mainly includes architectural monuments for housing and defense, and funeral and religious ceremonies. Its uniqueness and splendor have long attracted the attention of scholars. In Ingusetia there are almost 1,500 historical and cultural monuments, of which about 100 are settlements with towers located on the ridges of flattened mountains or in the depths of the gorges. An important area of Ingusetia's spiritual culture is oral folk arts, legends, folk tales, songs and dances with grace, flexibility, elegance and simplicity.
The coin minted in Proof quality presents the stylized silhouettes of a man and a woman in national costumes; the background image shows the ancient ingus towers and a chain of mountains; Traditional ingus ornaments appear at the bottom of the coin field; and the inscription '250 ЛЕТ ВХОЖДЕНИЯ ИНГУШЕТИИ В СОСТАВ РОССИЙСКОГО ГОСУДАРСТВА' (250 ANNIVERSARY OF INGUSETIA BETWEEN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION) along the edge.
The obverse of the coin shows a relief image of the Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, on the edge is the semicircular inscription 'РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ' (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed on both sides by interwoven rhombuses. Under the coat of arms there are indications of the precious metal and its fineness on the left, and the fine metal content and the mint mark on the right, at the bottom in the center, on three lines, is the inscription 'БАНК РОССИИ '(BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the currency' 3 РУБЛЯ '(3 RUBLOS) and the year of issuance' 2020 г. ' (2020).
