The Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico Vaticano announces the issuance for February 14 of the philatelic-numismatic combined under the name of Stamp & Coincards. This series of four copies is composed, as usual, for the 50 cent coin of the current year and for each of the four values of the official series of 2020 stamps dedicated to Pope Francis.
The annual commemorative series of the Pope Francis Pope 2020 refers to the fifth anniversary of the encyclical Laudato si 'in which the Pope invites to have a more attentive and respectful attitude towards creation.
In the Encyclical, following the biblical account of Creation, Pope Francis demonstrates the three fundamental relationships of man: with God, with his neighbor and with the earth. Each creature has its function, none is superfluous, writes the Pontiff, recalling that "any abuse of any creature is contrary to human dignity."
In line with the principles of respect, love and care of each of the living beings, the four values that make up the philatelic series (1.10, 1.15, 2.40 and 3 euros), remind the Pontiff along with various animal species.
