Belonging to the Flora and Fauna series in Luxembourg, a collection coin with a 5-euro facial of the bimetallic type will be issued in October, in Proof quality, dedicated to the Lavanco Somormujo (Podiceps cristatus), a very frequent water bird in the lagoons and Marshes of the Iberian Peninsula.
The coin shows a Lavender Grebe in the water. About twenty couples reproduce in Luxembourg, mainly in the nature reserve of Haff Reimech near the city of Remerschen. The facial value, 5 EURO, and the scientific name, PODICEPS CRISTATUS, complete the composition.
