A few moments ago, from the Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico Vaticano, I received the official information regarding the first commemorative 2 euro coin issued in this 2019 dedicated to the "90th anniversary of the Foundation of the Vatican City State " , for which they announce their broadcast on May 7.
As usual, the coin will go on sale in two qualities, BU and Proof, at the price, for subscribers, of 18 and 37 euros respectively, plus shipping costs.
On February 11, 1929, in the Hall of honor of the Lateran Palace, during the pontificate of Pope Pius XI, the "Lateranenses Pacts" were signed, stipulated between the Holy See and Italy, with which for the first time since the unity from Italy regular bilateral relations were established between Italy and the Holy See. This recognized the independence and sovereignty of the Holy See, and at the same time, the Vatican City State was formally "founded".
