It is not a ticket with the highest face value in the world, but it is in the top 3 of the highest value currently in circulation, behind the $ 10,000 Singapore and $ 10,000 Brunei, (both equal to 6,536 euros). The new bill of 1,000 Swiss francs (almost 880 euros) was issued this week, the fifth of the new and innovative series that has already been on the street for some time the 200, 50, 20 and 10 francs. Only the 100 is complete to complete the new series.

The new series of Swiss banknotes is inspired by 'The many facets of Switzerland'. Each denomination represents a typical characteristic of the country. The 1000 francs bill focuses on the style of communication in Switzerland and highlights the multilingual nature of the country. The main design elements of the new series are the hand and the globe, which appear on each bill.

The new bills have 15 security features to prevent counterfeiting, including bright ink, shiny wire, window cut-outs, ultraviolet elements and microtexts. In addition, they have a structure of three layers: two outer cotton paper and a polymer core to reinforce them, which makes them more durable than traditional paper for bills.

The final denomination of the new series, the 100 franc note, will be presented on September 3 and will enter into circulation on September 12, 2019.

The ninth series of Swiss banknotes
In 2005, the National Bank of Switzerland held a competition to determine the design of the ninth series of banknotes. The competition was won by Manuel Krebs, but his designs, which include representations of blood cells and embryos, met with enough opposition from the general public to discourage the bank from moving forward with them.

As a result, the ninth series of Swiss franc notes is based on the designs of the finalist who finished second, Manuela Pfrunder. The series was scheduled to be released around 2010, but was delayed until 2015 due to technical problems in production. The new 50 francs bill was issued on April 12, 2016, followed by the 20 francs bill on May 17, 2017, the 10 francs bill on October 18, 2017, the 200 francs bill on August 22, 2018 and the one that I presented to you of 1,000 francs on March 13, 2019.
