Dedicated to the collector, employer, businessman and public figure, who had great influence in financial and industrial circles and became a notable figure in the commercial and public life of Kiev, Bogdan Ivanovich Khanenko. On January 17, the Bank of Ukraine issued a 2 grivnas coin dedicated to the character.
Bohdan Khanenko, together with his wife, made an important contribution to the cultural heritage of Ukraine: for more than 40 years, Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko collected unique works of world art becoming the founders of the museum that bears his name in Kiev.
On the obverse of the coin is shown on the top a small national emblem of Ukraine, the circular inscriptions 2019 and UKRAINE (top left), TWO GRIVINS (top right), BOGDAN KHANENKO 1849 - 1917 (bottom); in the center, in the foreground, there is a portrait of Bohdan Khanenko, in the background on the left is Varvara Khanenko. The logo of the Mint of Ukraine is located on the right side.
On the back of the coin is a stylized composition of hands symbolically holding a colored image, representing all the works of art donated by the couple to the museum that bears his name.
