Dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian teacher, publicist and author of books for children, Vasyl Sukhomlinsky, which marks the centenary of his birth, the Bank of Ukraine issues today on September 3 a coin with a facial of 2 grivnas to remember his figure and the original education system that he used with children, based on the idea of self-esteem and uniqueness of each individual. The ideas proposed by Vasyl Sukhomlinsky formed the basis of the new Ukrainian school that is being implemented in the country.
On the back, a heart appears in the center with the inscription "Give to the children", around the heart there are stylized figures of characters that appear in the stories of the books written by V. Sukhomlynsky.
The obverse shows above the emblem of Ukraine, next to the inscription UKRAINE and the year of issue of the currency, 2018 ; below to the right is the nominal value, 2 Grivnas, and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. In the center and as main motive we see a portrait of Vasyl Sukhomlynsky surrounded by a semicircle with his name and the years in which he lived 1918 - 1970.
