Schokland was the first Dutch site inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 and a reason for the seventh coin of the series "Patrimonies of the Humanity of Holland" that began to be issued in 2012.
On the reverse side of the coin is a grid with the typical landscape of the Dutch polder (land surfaces won to the North Sea), which frames the contours of the old island of Schokland next to the face value of the € 5 coin. The 4 different icons on the outside of the design refer to the cultural values and history of Schokland.

On the obverse of the coin we see the portrait of the King in profile, looking to the right: abstract but recognizable. Under the portrait we see part of a drawing of lines in the landscape style of the reverse.
