The third German coin of 5 euros, from the series Climate Zones, in which the polymer is used as part of it, dedicated to the Temperate Zone and corresponding to 2019, has a design that has been unveiled today August 29 by the German Ministry of Finance. This will be the third piece of the five that make up the series and that are issued between the years 2017 to 2021 (one per year). The one of 2019 will have the plastic and translucent ring in green color, in addition each one of the five German mints will give a tonality different from that color.
The design corresponds to the artist Peter Lasch on his back. The obverse, common to the entire series, was designed by the artist Stefanie Radtke.
The reverse shows a characteristic landscape of the temperate zones representing a stylized image of cultivated lands. The hare shown in the center of the coin is a typical representative of the open places in these areas. The change of seasons of this climatic zone is visualized in the branches and the oak leaf that falls, these silhouettes describe the landscape of the deciduous forest that dominates the area.
The obverse shows an eagle, the word "Federal Republic of Germany", the face value "5 euro", the year 2019, the twelve European stars and, depending on the mint, the mint mark "A" (Berlin), "D" (Munich), "F" (Stuttgart), "G" (Karlsruhe) or "J" (Hamburg).

The 5 euro coin "Temperate Zone" is composed of two different copper-nickel alloys and a green translucent polymer ring. It weighs 9 grams and is produced in two grades of coinage, BU and Proof.
The currency in BU quality will be put on sale at its nominal value (5 euros) in the Federal Banks of Germany. The coin with the Proof finish will go on sale for a higher price, yet to be determined.
