The city and capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year with this name, since until June 2018 it was called Akmola. The city also celebrates another year this year, the ten years as the capital of the state that until then had the city of Almaty. The Bank of Kazakhstan has issued among others, although all with the same design, a 100 tenge coin to celebrate these ephemerides. The currency belongs to the series called "Events".
On the reverse side of the coin is a collage of iconic buildings from Astana. In the upper part the inscription "ASTANÁ" is shown. In the lower part there is a stylized image of the number "20", the inscription "ZHIL (LIVED)" and the inscription "1998-2018", which indicates the year of formation of the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the year of coinage.
The emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is represented on the obverse of the coin. On the circumference of the coin the inscription "100 TENGE" and the inscriptions in Kazakh and English "Republic of Kazakhstan".
