It would not be imaginable to issue a coin of a circulating and commemorative type here in Spain, just as the Royal Canadian Mint has recently put into circulation in Canada, honoring the Centennial of the Canadian ice hockey team Toronto Maple Leafs, on a piece of a dollar. Although seen from the point of view of the success that it would have between the population in general and the collectors in particular sure that would be very high, let us think what it would suppose the emission of coins dedicated to Spanish soccer equipment. Obviously as circulation coins would not be authorized, but even if they were collectible coins, base metals and at an affordable price, would be of great acceptance.

Well, after a little deviation the subject, I present the currency in question.

The reverse of the coin shows at the top the words "CANADA DOLLAR" with a disc (with which this sport is played) between the two words. Above two sticks shows the maple leaf that represents the logo of the mint, below we see the shield of the team and the years 1917 left and 2017 right. The coin has been designed by Steven Rosati, whose initials "SR" are also shown.

The obverse shows the usual image of Queen Elizabeth II, as in the rest of Canadian circulation coins.
