In March 2017 the Bank of Slovenia convened a design competition for the 2-euro commemorative coin to be issued in 2018 dedicated to "World Bee Day", the day that is celebrated on May 20 of each year, commemorating the birth Of Anton Jansa, an eighteenth-century Slovenian beekeeper considered a pioneer of modern beekeeping. A total of 36 designs were presented to the contest that today we will meet the winner, who will see how his project is represented in the coin, and the other two finalists who occupied the second and third position.
