With celebrations of Canada 150 reaching their peak, the Royal Canadian Mint is proud to release new collector coins in honor of this historic celebration, as well as ingeniously crafted collectibles featuring proudly Canadian symbols. These new coins are now available for purchase.

An important milestone reached in 2017 is the 50th anniversary of the Order of Canada, established during Canada's centennial year. Appearing for the first time ever on a coin, the signature hexagonal snowflake design of the Order of Canada, meticulously reproduced in color and white enamel, stands out on the latest installment in the $20 fine silver coin series celebrating major Canadian honors.

Proud of many firsts, the Mint is also excited to introduce a 5 oz. fine silver coin featuring working gears made from original copper cladding the roofs of Canada's Parliament buildings in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Peace Tower. Illustrated by artist Calder Moore, the face of the iconic clock that towers over Parliament Hill and has become synonymous with Canada's capital, is dramatically rendered in antique finish to highlights its fine details and echo its 90-year history.

The celebration of Canada 150 continues to take the shape of many new coins, such as:

The 2017 Enameled Special Edition Proof Silver Dollar – Our Home and Native Land;
The 2017 $50 Fine Silver Coin – Whispering Maple Leaves, the Mint's first 3 oz. reverse gold plated coin, featuring the geometric artwork of Calder Moore;
The 2017 $200 Pure Gold Coin – GML Canada 150, carted of 5-9s pure gold and enhanced with a laser micro-engraved pattern of repeating maple leaves and the number “150”;
The 2017 $250 Pure Gold Coin – Celebrating Canadian Brilliance, on which artists Chris Reid and Rosina Li transformed Heritage Canada's Canada 150 logo into an elegant series of diamond facets surrounding a genuine Canadian Forevermark® diamond;
The 2017 $30 Fine Silver Coin – Celebrating Canada, featuring Jesse Koreck's colorful rendering of the famed Snowbirds doing their traditional Canada Day flypast over Parliament Hill and, thanks to glow-in-the-dark technology, also reveals the fireworks show that caps off every July 1st celebration;
The $20 fine silver coin - Locomotives Across Canada: RS 20, depicting the first diesel locomotive manufactured in Canada, illustrated by John Mantha; and
The 2017 $10 Fine Silver Coin – Celebrating Canada's 150th featuring “Drum Dancing”, an iconic photo of traditional Nunavut culture captured by Michelle Valberg.

The Mint's new offering of collector coins also includes:

The 2017 Fine Silver Coin – Bejeweled Bugs: Butterfly, which pairs a gemstone-adorned butterfly with an elegantly engraved coin designed by artist Jori van der Linde;
The 2017 $20 Fine Silver Coin – Three-Dimensional Leaping Cougar, featuring a 3D element of a cougar in a dramatic illustration by Matt Bowen;
The $500 Pure Gold Coin – Maple Leaves, featuring a Margaret Best design of sugar maple leaves on a large-diameter 5 oz. gold coin;
The 2017 $15 Fine Silver Coin – Great Canadian Outdoors: Around the Campfire, designed by Joel Kimmel and the 2017 $30 Five Silver Coin – Animals in the Moonlight: Orcas, illustrated by Vanessa Miller, both of which combine color and glow-in-the-dark technology to bring their classically Canadian visions to life;
