As I put before you on 31 January, San Marino changes all the designs of its regular circulation coins. Today that they have date of issue, next June 26, I am going to show you in detail and descriptions each one of these eight currencies that compose this series, that can be acquired in two different eurosets.
Currency of 2 euros
The motif includes the portrait of San Marino (detail of a painting by Giovan Battista Urbinelli), the date of 2017, the mint mark of the factory of the Italian coin 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of Artist AL and 12 stars in the outline. The legend engraved on the chanter of the 2 euro coin, "2 *", is repeated six times, alternately from the bottom up and from the top down.
Currency of 1 euro
The motif includes the second tower, the date of 2017, the mint mark of the factory of the Italian coin 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AL and 12 stars in the outline.
Currency of 50 cents
The motif includes the portrait of San Marino (detail of a painting by Emilio Retrosi), the date of 2017, the mint mark of the Italian coin factory 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AL and 12 stars in the outline.
Currency of 20 cents
The motif includes Mount Titano with the three towers, the date of 2017, the mint mark of the factory of the Italian coin 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AL and 12 stars in the outline.
Currency of 10 cents
The motif includes the church of San Francisco, the date of 2017, the mint mark of the factory of the Italian coin 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AL and 12 stars in the outline.
Currency of 5 cents
The motif includes the church of San Quirino, the date of 2017, the mint mark of the factory of the Italian coin 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AL and 12 stars in the outline.
Currency of 2 cents
The motif includes the city gate, the date of 2017, the mint mark of the Italian coin factory 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AL and 12 stars in the outline.
1 cent coin
The motif includes the official coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino, the date of 2017, the mint mark of the factory of the Italian coin 'R', the legend 'San Marino', the initials of the artist AN and 12 stars In the contour.
All coins have been designed by the artist Arno Ludwig, except for the 1 cent that is the work of Antonella Napolione.
The two eurosets
The Philately and Numismatic Ufficio of San Marino announces the issuance of two distinct eurosets. The one you see above to the left with the eight new regular coins, will be put on sale for the price of 26 € plus shipping costs, with a maximum of 23,000 units.
The one on the right contains the eight new regular coins and a 5 euro coin in 925 silver dedicated to World Water Day. 13,000 eurosets will be put on sale, at the price of 43 € plus shipping costs.
